Another Newbie Question

Beloved nephew (who should be glad he is several hundred miles away) has sent me another .avi. This time its an Xvid with AC3 and MP3 sound.

Ok, so I can handle the Xvid with AC3 type now. What do I do when an .avi has two audio streams?

I can demux them, no problems there, but how do I author the DVD. DVDlab and DVDauthor only seem to accept one audio stream.

Suggestions gratefully received (I've probably thought of most things I could do to distant nephew).

I don't believe either will accept .MP3 audio format for processing.

Your post isn't entirely clear to me - Do you WANT to retain both
audiostreams in your DVD compilation or do you want to know how to eliminate one?

DVDLab Pro will accept multiple audio, but not mp3.

Problem solved...

At least, it seems to be.

Instead of trying to separate video and audio - like you do with an .ac3 - you just let TMPEngc convert the .avi to a .mpg (system sound and video).

When you pull this .mpg into DVDlab, it asks if you want to split the file. The answer is yes You are then left with a .mpa and a .m2v (could be a .somethingelse, its early and my memory isn't fully awake).

And no help from my <insert expletive here> nephew this time.
