DVD Player Compatibility Problems

For this question lets assume that I am using the same type of media meaning same manufacturer.
I could burn a DVD movie using DVD shrink with the built in nero plugin.
The DVD will play on on dvd player #1 but it will not play on #2.
I could try burning another dvd movie and itll play on #2 but not #1
So my question is, is there a thing that I might be doing wrong in regards to burning it or ripping it to make it fully compatible or something. I have not found anyone else with this problem.

I'm afraid to say, neither have I. Within the parameters described (same media, same process and, I presume, same burning speed) it appears to defy logic...
