if you simply want a direct copy of any VCD and have nero handy, you can simply use it's "copy disc" feature and create an image on your HD, rather than encoding a .dat file with tmpgenc.(unless you want to make modifications to it).

You don't say what you're problem is. Do you want to copy it ? If so do as columbo stated. Post what you want your end result to be.

oh yes, it certainly does "sound" illegal, but it is still not a breach of forum rules(not yet). it COULD be a "home" movie right?

anyway, audio out of synch can be corrected...need more info....

It already had the .dat file. I did not make this file. I really dont care what format it is as long as it plays along with the sound. As far as additional information is concerned, plz specify what u want to know. All i know is that its a .dat file plays with any media player but the sound is always out of sync.

P.S. its not pirated or illegal, its an interview of someone I need to use for a project.

yes the sound is out of sync consistent through out the disc or file. I do not know if the sound sourcr and the video source is in the same file. Is there a way to find thaat out?

i would copy the disc to the HD and edit the sound on the .dat file using tmpgenc. if the sound is consistently out, it can easily be corrected with this programs' "audio gap correct "feature.
