I´m a newbie and i´m going crazy, helppppp

Greetings to everyone, since i´m new here.......
    Also, I have a Problem..............
I have downloaded the movie The lord of the rings:the fellowship of the ring in an .avi File(wich requires a MP43 codec, no problem there) but, I am from Argentina, so i hate to see the movie in english with no subtitles......
The point is.....I want to know how to subtile the movie.....and, if possible, to view the movie WITH the Subtitle in the Windows Media Player 7.1 version, because it's the better AVI Player i have...(Because i only have the rwal Player and th WMP 7.1)

Anything that can help me will be welcome, Bye!!!!

You will have to look for the subtitle script, one that will play alongside the movie file you have. I would suggest going where you downloaded the movie from, or use a search engine to get it.

Another suggestion, though it's not really necessary. Most people prefer the use of WMP6.4 (over 7), which can always be found in x:\program files\windows media player\mplayer2.exe.

I don't play around often with subtitle files, so someone will hopefully drop in to help here.

As for your video, you should join them together before inputting the subtitle script. Virtualdub will do the job nicely.

                Vobsub

                Hi,
                i saw your problem...
                i had the same problem!
i would very much recommend a little plugin-program: "Vobsub"
you will find it on www.divx-digest.com it plays subtitles in your standart windows video player automaticly!

all you have to do is install it....
after installation you have to rename your subtitle file to the same name as the video file. example:

Videofile's name: lord of the rings.avi
                Subtitle's file-name: lord of the rings.sub
                or: lord of the rings.srt

it plays any type of subtitle file....

anyway if you need to edit subtitles also look on www.divx-digest.com under software...
                good luck...
