Questions about .VOB > VCD

Hey, everyone.

I d/led a DVD rip in IFO/BUP/VOB format. I know how to play them, that's no problem. I can either just mount it on my virtual drive (Daemon), rename the VOB's to .mpg or open up the VOB's with VLC.

However, the problem is that I want to take this 3GB package, and combine the VOB's into one MPG so I can burn it onto a CD-R as a VCD.

Can someone please tell me what I need and how to to this?

EDIT: I should mention that I have Premiere and Pinnacle Studio if any of those would help.

The question is allowed.

you could try this method;

open TMPGEnc, (plus) Click on File, Select MPEGTools.

Select "demultiplex". set to "MPEG-2 Program(VBR)". Select and save only the video and audio streams you want.

Select "multiplex", set to "MPEG-2 Program(VBR)", select the video and audio streams you saved from the previous step.

then you could re-encode using tmpgenc... even still virtualdubmod can do this too, select/de-select the audio streams you want and save as avi then convert with tmpgenc.

you''ll never get all this on one cd-r , more like 4 or 5....

Downloading a DVD rip would suggest downloading a movie pirated from the original DVD, which would be illegal and which also breaks one of the rules of this forum (rule 6):

Well, I prefer to give ashes the benefit of the doubt - we are not a police society - it's just a forum.

Also, even though he is new to this board, it is obvious that he is very knowledgable (he must have been involved in digital video for ages) and it's great to see more knowledge come onto the boards to replace setarip so quickly.

A quick study, indeed!!! I must be slow, for it took me ages to learn what small amount I do know. Thanks to the great man mpucoder, r0lZ, 2COOL, jsoto, and lotsa others (sorry to those not mentioned).
