    probably due to the sound.

use virtualdubmod to recompress the audio to something else (mp3, wav etc)

run it through tmpgenc again...no problem.

Thanks for the quick reply but I have no ideal what you mean. I am new at this and just burn video and audio together in nero.

        download virtualdubmod (free)
VirtualDubMod is based on VirtualDub by Avery Lee. Born as a unification of several modifications, new features have been added including support…

"file" open video file, "streams", "stream list", "save wav". use this wav file as the AUDIO input for tmpgenc (in the wizard)

yw. if that fails, i have one other method using virtualdubmod that never fails. i'm wondering if tmpgenc will now not accept it because of the video ...but try it and see....if needed raise "direct show" to 2, under environmental settings, "vfapi" plugin tab.

do this with Virtualdub of one of it's variants (I use Virtualdub mpeg2) all free
1 load your video file in vdub mpeg2
              2 click audi>direct stream copy
              3 click video>full proccessing mode
              4 click video>filters>add
5 add the "null transform" filter
              6 click cropping
7 crop as desired (Y2 offset crops the bottom
              8 click video>compression
9 choose the encoder (I use xvid, free)
              10 set the encoder settings
11 click ok till back at main window
              12 click file>save as

I use Tmpgenc Plus (mpeg2) to do my frame cropping of the black top and bottom borders, when the source is 16:9 wide screen and I want to convert to 4:3 full screen.

Also, does the encoding, sound level changes and fade in and out, framerate change for NTSC films from 29.975 to 23.975 and seperate streams of m2v and mp2.
