    Cry 4 Help - DVDR75

New to the forum and not sure where to best post this request for help!!

I've got a Philips DVDR75 that I brought here in the UK 18 months ago from Richer Sounds. It was multi-region out of the box but I don't know whether that was Philips' doing or a 3rd party.

Over the last 3 months more and more errors have started happening. Most recordings start fine and the clock ticks on and all looks well. Typically at the end of the recording all I'll see is DISK ERROR on the screen and no way to access the titles menu let alone playback.

Twice now when playing commercial brand new DVD titles the player has refused to see the seocnd layer of titles and stopped dead...halfway through the movie.

I've got a firmware upgrade downloaded and ready to go but don't really want to do this in case I lose the multi-region.

    Is firmware the problem?

Will I lose the multi-region on upgrade?

    Any advice would be welcome....

    "PLEASE HELP!!!
I have DVDR75/021 less than 1 year. It was a great recorder until i'm make upgrade firmware (ver.6.3 from official Philips website). From this moment recorder very often show "Disc error" on display, hanging on when press "rec" button /don't display red "circle"/, sometimes display "unknown disc format", even if loaded is new disc +RW and always overwrite first title on +RW disc when I want record next. Before upgrading, my philips has work properly. It's possibly come back to previous firmware?
