    Burning movies from a folder

I can't figure out how to do it. I click Open Files or whatever, and they come up in proper format but I can't find the burn option.

Please help. I know it's a dumb question, but I usually never burn from a folder but from the DVD right after its ripped.

Here is an image showing the New DVD compilation on the right, select all the files inside VIDEO_TS folder and either Copy them or Drag them all the way over to the Red folder on the left and drop them into it. If you're other settings are correct you'll be ready to Burn the Disc with Nero.

Still confused? Here is the complete guide "How do I use Nero to create a backup of a DVD?"

Yea, I was doin that right then.

Then my problem might be software.

When I go to burn, it'll say Illegal Disc. Why would it say illegal disc? I haven't burned a DVD on here in like 3 months, but now that I want to - I can't.

try updating nero to the latest version, if you haven't already done so http://www.nero.com

        if still nothing,

post your nero log file, its located here: C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero , click on the file 'NeroHistory.log', and post the last entry.

you could also check your manufacturer's website for the latest firmware for your drive

          See, thats the thing.

For some reason, it can't find any dvd writer drives so I can't update. I'm so blind at this cause I've never done anything like this. I work with music on a Mac, I'm not 100% with a PC or with updates like this or anything.

I don't know what brand of DVD media you use. I would suggest to check for the firmware update. If the problem still persists, try the different DVD+/-R (Verbatim, I hope). I had the same error with Nero before with a lousy brand of DVD-Rs and by changing to different brand, the error has never appeared again

I'm using Office Max brand DVD+Rs. They were on sell 100 for $30, I figured they were cheap but the deal I couldn't pass up. I hope they will let me return them.

I can't figure out how to download firmware or from where or anything. I feel like I'm being mind screwed. Don't want to be too nasty on the boards haha.

Nero sees your HP burner fine
                    Disc Information (J:\)
I don't understand these entries though:

But anyway, are you sure you've got the J drive selected in Nero?
Where is says "G: SONY DVD RW..." in the picture you should see "J: HP DVD+R/RW ..."

                      How do I change it?

I don't have anything Sony on here, so I don't know whats goin on with that.

Skitd, could you post a log file from Nero ?

To do so, go here: C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero
Look for a file named "NeroHistory.log"
Open that file up and copy the last log in it.
                            Then paste it here.
