Hi all,
When I try to burn a dvd from an mpeg made up of an ac3 file and an m2v file the burning software won't recognise the audio in the mpeg.
I got the streams off a DVD via smartripper and used tmpegnc v3.0xp to create the mpeg.
I can play the mpeg in wmp, power dvd etc and the audio is there in dolby digital format.
I'm using Ulead Videostudio 9 to do the conversion and burning.
Ulead tech support say that videostudio9 does not have a licence to input dolby digital/ac3 hence no audio as its unsupported.
They also didn't deny that Videostudio9 is a bit shaky, lots of general error messages etc, which I've experienced also.
Bitching aside, I tried the same process using Nero 6 Reloaded, with the same problem. No audio. Well, the error message was 'could not create dvd structure' but in the log file it reads 'unsupported audio format'
I then recoded my mpeg in tmpgenc to mpeg 1 layer 2 audio, thinking to get around the Dolby licence problem (if that's what it is)
Bu it makes no difference. Still no audio.
Either I am doing the ripping and/or encoding process wrongly, in which case please set me straight. Or, this is an actual conflict which hopefully someone has a fix for.
