The last few times I have used NeroVision Express 3 to convert AVI to backup DVD it has frozen my system solid.The last time I tried I had to unplug my system.It was the only way to shut it down

ONLY this one particular file? does it playback with sound properly on the PC?i'd never suggest to anyone to use nero to do conversions, but please post the file information with either gspot or virtualdubmod

LOL. It might have to do with the amount of memory on your system - I know on mine Nero hogs all of it, even though I have 768MB on it. If you have a relatively low amount, that might explain the freezing.CYA Later:

To drfsupercenter I think that you are correct Nero does seem to take a lot of juice so I think I will have to find a better system for AVI and thank you for the input. To LT. Columbo if I use Nero again I will check the DMA. Thanks again for the input

as far as converting goes, you can also use Ulead Video Studio to burn. It takes a long time and does hog the memory but it should not crash the system when burning. It lets you make menus and everything too. Also a great program for video editing (I made 2 music videos with it as well) and it is good for converting from one format to another - including AVI, MPG, WMV, and it can save as RM.
