    I can't convert certain video

    I have a 2 video files. At first I wasn't able to hear any audio but then, admin told me to download acfilter codec. I converted it to mpeg2 using tmpgenc but the converted file has no audio. How do I convert this with audio? Can someone help please?

      shadowofthedark, if you want a solution for your problem, you need to answer our questions, particularly LT's number 2, which i asked in your previous thread..

        So do those original videos now play with audio?

          after you installed acfilter do you have audio on the original file

          d/l Gspot (free) and load the file in it. Gspot will tell you what codec/s are needed to play the audio/video and if they are installed on your pc

            Are you sure you TMPGE didn't save the audio as a separate WAV audio file?

              @lt. columbo
              here's the file

              It has audio now after installing acfilter

              @doit2it
              I was able to play it, but before installing ac3filter, it didn't have any sound then

              @tigerman8u
              I'm already okay with acfilter, but my real problem is after converting it with tmpgenc, it doesn't have any audio, where as I can hear the audio in the original file. I've already followed lt. columbo's suggestion before in putting the direct show multimedia filter in the highest priority.

                your problem is the ac3 sound. sometimes ac3 won't go through even with directshow raised. simply follow the steps outlined in this guide:

                you can convert it to wav, or demux the ac3 and use it at the authoring stage.

                  So, can you tell us if you're sure that TMPGE didn't save the audio as a separate WAV audio file? Does the MPEG2 file you created have an extension of MPG or M2V?

                    that would be the case yes, if PCM audio was chosen at the start of the wizard, giving "elementary streams". was it shadowofthedark?

                      Let me get this.

                      1) First I need AC3Fix and install.
                      2) Then I go to streams--streams list--then demux it.
                      3) Then I go to tmpgenc, Pick the video and then pick the sound that I demux.

                      Is this right?

                          Nope, there were no other files after TMPgenc converted it, although the file is mpeg2, extension mpg.

                            no, you need to convert the audio to wav first. check the guide again. you can demux later and use the ac3 if you want when you author.

                              I demuxed the audio with wav, then tmpgenc it using the video file and the demuxed wav file. But the end product still doesn't have any sound. What's with ac3 anyway?
