Strange playback problem...

hi guys, new to the forum, so be gentle!

I've burnt some dvds recently, using different source material, tried using different burning software... and I keep getting a strange effect on playback.

The picture is great quality, but every second (or so) the picture "freezes" for a split second, as though it is halting on every 25th frame.

I wouldn't describe it as "stutering" because the effect is very smooth.
I've read all the faq on here, checked the burn using Nero tools, Im burning at slow speeds using good quality media (Verbatim).

A lot of the source material is NTSC, if that makes any difference?

I usually use Nerovision express, as this will import almost any kind of file.

Any suggestions?

Did you convert from one format to another? That might have something to do with it.

converting from one format to another - if you mean did I try to convert from ntsc to pal, then no.

Night Tran:
what do you mean by "quality of my dvd"? Do you mean the disks I'm using, the burner, or the player I'm trying to play it on?

I also mean, did you convert from AVI to MPEG for example. Or from a DVD to AVI or something.

I assume you are in PAL Land.

• First, ensure your player is fully capable of playing NTSC
• If so, try to mock strip the titleset concerned - see link in my signature.

roohster- Did you try playing the burned DVD on other players? Your player couild be the problem
