Copy DVD's to CD

I'd like to know what are the steps to copy a DVD?
Which softwares should I use?
I have SmartRipper,DVDX,DivX,DivBritrate,RipItAll,FHG Radium Codec,FlashMPeg but I dont know how to use it!
Like When should I do SVCD or VCD?

What are the steps to copy a DVD?Could you help me out?
