70-80% downloaded

Every time I try to download an avi or mpeg, it only completes 70-80%. If I try to play it I get an error message. I tried to reinstall WMP 7.1. I get a message saying the version I downloaded is incompatible with my windows platform. This, after I downloaded 7.1 for Windows ME. I would appreciate any help.

You can't playback incomplete DivX files. The only thing you can do to get it to play is to reindex it. The fastest and easiest way would be by using DivFix. Your media player version does not really matter. In fact, I and many others have always preferred the better WMP6.4, found in the same folder where WMP7.1 is located.

The PLAYA or Divx Player 2.0 can playback incomplete downloads.
