I have a dvd player that can play avi files. I also have some wmv files i would like to watch in my dvd player. Is there anyway i can do this that is not time consuming?

Try going here http://www.videohelp.com/. Go to the tools section and select the type of file conversion. You should be able to find a free prog to do what you need. In my limited experience, any time that you convert from one file format to another it will be time consuming.

      Welcome to tha forum zeppelinrocks

My divx/xvid standalone is able to play also wmv files. Check your player: maybe you don't need to do any conversion at all.

To check try to use a rewritable media, so you don't waste media

You could try one of those all-in-one video converters, or Ulead Video Studio. Ulead is not fast though... usually takes about as long as it takes to play the video to encode it.

You could also use NeroVision Express to convert the WMV directly to DVD format, but this takes even longer.

I am not sure if there is a fast way... maybe MEncoder could do this. However, there is not a GUI for this, so it involves using the C:// prompt.
