    Mpeg 4

Now I am not very experienced when it comes to video clips/movies. I know how to convert dvds to avi, but I guess that is straightforward.

I got a new mobile that plays MPEG 4 videos. I also have a 512mb memory card. I am wanting to be able to play music videos on my mobile. But the current "mpeg" files I have do not even show up on the memory card so I am guessing this is because they are the incorrect format. ( I put a .doc file on and it didnt show it)

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on what I will need to do to convert them to mpeg4 files or 3gp (if possible). As far as I am aware, the mpeg files on my pc will be mpeg 2?

    Thanks.

I have been told the video is in size 176 x 220.
They have given me no video bit rate.
The sound bitrate is max 160kbps.

I used a program called IMToo but when I play the video back on the phone the quality is so poor that you cannot see a thing. It was converted to 3gp. I tried to convert to mp4 but IMToo just changed the setting back to 3gp.

what about the framerate? doesd it support mpeg4? wmv/wma?

i've found the easiest route is to use wmv/wma, with 'windows media encoder'.

eg. my own phone, the motorola c975, takes 176x220, 15fps, mpeg4/wmv/wma/mp3. very easy, just input the specs into the program, it'll encode.
