    Flask mpeg grrr

    Hey guys.

I was using flask mpeg this morning and it was working fine. The files i was encoding were stored on a Fat32 drive and were no more then 390mb in size. Tonite i just ripped a movie into one big file (4.9Gb) and when i try to encode them i get dumped straight back into windows. The only difference that i can think of is that the file is stored on an NTFS drive.

I currently run Win XP Pro on an Athlon XP 1800.

The standard (old) avi format only support avi files upto 2 GB.
If you need to make avi files larger than that you must use OpenDML avi

If you are using version 0.594 then you can set file splitting in the output format options.

Version 0.6 supports OpenDML. use that and everything should work.

As for other flask derivatives, I don't know.

ok i didn't explain that very well. The file i'm encoding into divx is 4.9gb. The file i want in the end is going to be around 699mb.

Edit: i tried the OpenDML thingo just then and it shut the program down too.

OK I guess that makes more sense

The problem could be that vob files that large simply isn't valid. But since Flask is also a frequent cause of problems, you might try loading the file into DVD2AVI, if that doesn't work I think you are out of luck.
