I have a choice of converting an avi in different sizes and I know that 352 by 240 is a full screen size but what is a wide screen one? They give me the choices of 128 by 96, 176 by 144, 352 by 288, 705 by 576 and 640 by 480. My avi is 720 by 416. I don't want to stretch out the video. So which size do I put to avoid it??

NTSC:
352 x 240 = mpeg1 ratios
720 x ??? = mpeg 2 DVD ratio
The thing is, if you've not captured/recorded the DV in 16:9 and it appears you've a 4:3 ratio video, you are going to stretch it for a wide screen TV. -
720 x 480 is NTSC full D1. For PAL it's 720 x 576

Right, and if it's 16x9, it looks stretched unless you play it back as widescreen which stretches it the other direction.CYA Later:
