    Athlon Error?

    Hello,
    in the last weeks i tried to rip dvds in several ways. i used easydivx, dvdx, flaskmpeg, but every time my machine crashes, that means it freezes, i can see my desktop and the program panel, but the pc does not react on any key, or mouse.

    Whats the problem?

    I used an Athlon 1,2GHz, with 512MB RAM and IBM HD (7200rpm) on DFI motherboard with via chipset and windows 2000 professional...
    What do I hacve to do?

      Hi, I went through a similar problem to this and it took allot of patience and persistance to work it out. It may be that some software is clashing. So try to un-install what ever you have installed since you last did a successful Rip. If this fails you may have to format your PC and only put on the bare minimum and try a Rip. If this fails than as i found out i had a crap stick of RAM and since blowing it up my PC Rips great again although i only have 256 MEG now. Or you could try a totally different way of ripping. Take all the oter Ripping programs off your PC, install Clad DVD, DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc and see if that works (this is the way i rip and works, but there are other ways and programs available).
