Running out of ideas to get a snapshot...

I am totally new to video world, so please bear with me...

I have a divx avi film which plays great on the alpha player (I have the divx 5 bundle), but I cannot make stills with the "print screen" button. I just get a pitch black rectangle.

I dowloaded several snapshot taking programs, with the same result. Searching a little, I found several editing programs (which I though could be useful to extract frames) like VirtualDub, but when I open the file they all show... black frames. Audio is there tough.

Is there a way to just take a snapshot *without* converting that silly avi into another format? (it's half a movie, so I understand it would take ages... too much for a simple still for my desktop).

Just in case it's of any use, I attached a .jpg with the file's info.

    Thanks a lot!

I believe that if you download the just released VirtualDub v.1_4_10, you're problem will be solved...

        Try PowerDivx Player.
As far as I know it has a built-in snapshot function.
