In need of help. cant make a VCD

Heres one for all you pros

i have 2 flicks , both of very good to very high quality , & i can`t

make a VCD out of them , & i`m frustrated.i provide a virtual dub

screen shot of 1 flick.


In B.H.D.(Flick 1) , Virtual Dub says it detected improper VBR

audio encoding & must rewrite the audio header..etc

..... & in TMPGenc it says

cannot open or unsupported & properties , & reads as

Video-CD NTSC Film (MPEG-1 352x240 23.976fps CBR 1150kbps,

Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps)

In Nero(5.5.7.8 ???? or so ) , loads these files in a flash , not in a

normal fashion , & in nero preview there is no sound , & video is

in fast forward

This movie is of the highest quality i`ve seen , outside an original

DVD

i`ve burned much lower quality filx to VCD , so i cant figure

what`s the problem with this flick

With C.D. (Flick 2 ) , Virtual dub says , MPEG import filter :

packet Sync error on packet stream. & in TMPG says same as it did in the 1st flick , it`s propertiesVideo-read as

CD NTSC Film (MPEG-1 352x240 23.976fps CBR 1150kbps,

Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps). since Vitrual Dub wont load it due to

the sync error ,

i can`t provide a screen shot of such.Of note is the 1st part of

this flick gave me no problem in Nero to make a VCD

The first file contains a Variable Bit Rate audiostream, which TMPGEnc cannot handle. To create a file which CAN be handled by TMPGEnc, do the following:

Simply use VirtualDub to save the audio stream as an Uncompressed PCM (WAV) file.
Then set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"
Then save the .AVI as a silent .AVI (set "Audio" to "No audio" after you've saved the WAV file).

Then close VirtualDub and restart it
Set "Audio" to "No audio"
Load your silent .AVI
Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"
Under "Audio" click on "WAV Audio" and load your .WAV
From the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save as AVI" and save your file with a new filename.

Your new .AVI should now be totally (video and audio) acceptable to TMPGEnc.

Based on the input error you received from VirtualDub regarding the second file, it is being interpreted as being in MPEG2 format, which VirtualDub cannot handle (VirtualDub accepts only .AVI and MPEG1 formats for input). It may have originally been an MPEG2-SVCD which was converted to MPEG1-VCD format using the "quick and dirty" method under TMPGEnc...

The 2nd flick , which is just over 535 Mb , & 51 min

long , is read by Nero as (Way) too large to fit on a Cd

Where as the 1st disc of this same flick was longer ,

& burned fine

What gives here ? & is there any hope of getting a VCD out of

this ?

4. Then convert in TMPG ?




Thus i ignore the load error which wants to rewrite the audio

header with standard CBR values ? it says this may cause

0 Ms of skew from the video stream , i dont even know what

that is , need i worry ?

Yes, do not have VirtualDub do that "for you". You are, instead, saving a .WAV audio file.

It's actually quite a short process - sometimes it takes as much time to read directions as it does to implement them ;>}
