    Video Player Freezes, Advice Needed

    My PC system:
    Pentium 4, 2.60GHz,
    512 MB RAM
Microsoft XP Home Edition with SP2

My video players are freezing up while playing movies on my system. Each time, after about 1 hour of play mode, the video freezes, but the sound is playing as per normal. If I try to seek the time forward it freezes, and I have to terminate it abruptly (killing the process). I think the issue is not with the video player itself, because I tried with many other players, it hands out the same issue. One thing for sure, I noticed, it freezes upon an hour or more of continous play, no lesser. It is also not unique to the format of the movie file. And all this movie files are played directly from my hard drive. I have relevant codecs installed on my system.
I have tried with all this players of mine: Windows Media Player, Windows Media Player Classic, Quicktime, BSPlayer, Divx Player. And I encountered the same problem.

Any form of advice would be of a great help. Thanks.
And sorry if this is not the correct forum to post this kind of issues.

try ruling out the heat issue by using a fan to cool the tower(good airflow)

what's your cpu and mobo temperatures? after running for a while?
        what's your ambient room temperatures?

sorry never notice the second part of your post..
cpu and mobo temp. averages abt 34C
my room temp. is abt 20C (just rained in this part of the world )
my cpu is is at the bottom of my desk, in a special compartment, which is covered, except for the front and the back. I suppose thats the reason, for the heating up..
