    Sound error TMPGEnc

"An error occurred when audio is decoded"

This is the error which I get when I want to decode a movie (AVI DivX to MPEG1 (VCD)) whit TMPGEnc 12i.

    I think I'm missing a codec.....

I hope you guys/girls can help me!

      Hi,
I don't really know. I Download the movies in DivX (avi) format.
Is there a way to check what the format is?

      Do you recognize the error?

I think I know what the problem is.

          The movie is:
          MPEG-1 576x240 23,976 fps CBR 1150 kbps (video)
          Layer 2 48000 Hz 192 kbps (audio)

When choosing a template (in TMPGEnc click load button)
all the audio is 44100 Hz!

          But how to solve this?

How life in Down under, mate?

Hi ya, i am far from experienced with DIVX and aVI files but i know that with MPEGs you can DE-MUTLIPLEX them with TMPGEnc that splits the Audio and Video appart. Once you have the audio you can use a number of different audio editing programs to alter the nature of the audio. Than RE-MUX (re-multiplex) them back together. This should hold true for an AVI file. I think from what i have read that Flask seems to be the favorite program around to do stuff like this, i am not sure i have never used it and shouldnt be offering any advice in this matter, but thought i would give it a go and perhaps spark a few ideas

              Thanks,

You point me in the same direction as my colleague. He said that Flask will do the trick. But you must specially, manually check, when using Flask, that you convert to 44.1 kHz from 48kHz.

When ripping a DVD you'll automatically convert DVD Audio (48kHz) to AVI (44,1 kHz, CD standard)

So this is what I will be doing tonight. I let you know what happens.

              Cheers!
