Divx with adobe premiere pro problem

Hello,

I have a movie that I want to convert to avi with a divx codec.
But when I go to export - movie and then set to the codec divx 5.2.1 and I click on save I got the following error:

Error compiling movie.

Codec compression error.

This codec may be unable to support the requisted frame size, or there may be a hardware or momery problem.

Can someone help me to fix that problem?
Or is there any better way or codec to convert with that program cause I want a HDTV.Xvid file.
But when I use Xvid the whole program has a problem.

I just want to convert a movie with great quality with adobe premiere pro so every suggest is welcome.

Hi!

The first error message would be a clue as to what to check first, the frame sizing. Its possible that maybe the output frame size is not conforming to the particular format standard for the type of conversion you are attempting.

Im no expert, but it sounds like the codec cannot output the frame size you are wanting it to create.

But I also tried to have a smaller size and I still had that error. :s

Hi again!

Since you have tried a different output frame size, maybe its something to do with the input file itself. Try a different encoder like TMPenc Plus or maybe even FlaskMpeg, then use the resulting output file through divx to create the final avi.

Sorry if none of these suggestions are helpful. I just thought that maybe it was a framing problem, I have run into that before using divx, but never with the other codecs.

Is your resolution mod2? mod4? mod16?. Best to stick with mod16. I would actually suggest using something else if you want to compress with codecs like DivX though.

And what program would you suggest.
Cause I tried all kind of programs and many gave an error or the files were to big.
I want to have a 350MB file for 40 minutes video and not such a bad quality.

Filesize = length*bitrate. If it is too big then you set the bitrate too high.

Try VirtualDubMod. You would either need to frameserve from Premiere or save out a temp file using a lossless codec.
