    Bitrate info

Where do I get the information about the average bitrate used in a DivX movie? Rightclicking and chosing properties wont do. And opening the file in VirtualDub and choosing File-File information gives me some info but not the average bitrate (i guess).

And in Xmpeg I dont find it either.

To me, this seems a very newbie question and perhaps I am only tired and will wake up tomorrow wondering how stupid was I reaaly, but right now, I'd appreciate any help.

A simple way to do it is by calculators. You have the filesize and also the length of the movie. Inputting those values into a calculator will yield the estimated bitrate.

Rightclick and choose properties -> details, under video.. you wil find someting like ... KB/Sek. Multiplicate thgis value witb 8 and you will get the total bitrate for video+audio.

Thx u guys. When u know it, it's easy.

Just to check that I understood correctly:

Under Video it says 109 kbs and under audio 192 kbps.

So the vdeo is (109*8)-192= 680 bitrate, correct?

(I ripped my first movie successfully. the Straight Story. Follow this edonkey link to check it out.

        <a href="ed2k://|file|the Straight Story (2001) DivX 5 by sidfernwilter.avi|717471744|8fd5c536170717255822cf 45e0f24533|">the Straight Story (2001) DivX 5 by sidfernwilter.avi</a>

Now I will start with my next 50 DVDs.

Btw, what's the easiest DivX to VCD conversion program? TMGenc?
