Adding subtitles to a movie

Ok, heres the picture: I have ripped a movie, its now on DIVX avi format but it is in french and I have the subtitles for that movie on .sub format. I want to mix them together so I have only one avi file with the subs. Any sugestions will be apreciated. Thanks.
