Help with AVI

Hello everyone

My first post so please excuse me if this is a common question.

Can anyone please advise me?
I have several movies on my HDD all in AVI format.
I have found AVI2DVD to be a very good program to convert them to DVD However, some movies work really well but others AVI2DVD won't look at. it's very frustrating, because they all in AVI format.
can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong?

Please use VirtualDub(Mod), MediaInfo, or GSpot to what decoders needed to open these .avi files (DivX, XviD,...) so you can download them
