panasonic NV GS11....???

Hi guys newbie here.... My question is I have the above mentioned DVC, which i would like to use as webcam and put movies from camera to disc..>BUT when I connect to cam the screen remains black..??

also when i try to use windows moviemake only the sounds transfers through with no picture, black screen again..

any ideas what Im doing wrong...
any help appreciated

When you connect the camera to the recorder, do you select the input source to camera or line in or whatever. There should be a way to select the input, it's in your owners manual somewhere.
Windows movie maker...find the help menu.
