doesn't make much of difference since it shows the same media type. update the firmware, the log shows a cd-r being used, not a dvd. also nero 6 needs 64MB RAM minimum, you have less than that.

I can't understand whats eating too much ram, I've tried updating my firmware, but that page still doesn't work. The firmware I got now, is the only one I could find that is near enough up to date.

well you really should try to upgrade to more RAM. you have tried the link for freeing up resources from before right? as far as that link for firmware, it works perfectly fine for me.

Hi L.T yes, I have managed to get the firmware now thank you, I didn't realsie there was another new post from you before the one I made. As for RAM, yeah I know should upgrade it, also there's a tool, can't remember the name of it, begins with M, I did download that, but wasn't seeing it launch only showing in my task manager, so it was running in the background, is that any good? and also was that how it's meant to work? I did uninstall it as I wasn;t sure if there was something wrong with it.

I'm trying to make a data to a dvd disc
then tell nero that's what you want to do, it's only asking for the media type
(CDvsDVD) to go with what you told it.

you don't hardly have enough ram to run windows xp and burn cd's, it's going to want even more for dvd's.

              WinAspi: File 'Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=4.71 (0002), size=45056 bytes, created 7/16/2004 08:24:34

you need to get rid of this

              File 'Drivers\ASPI32.SYS': Ver=4.71 (0002) built by: WinDDK, size=16512 bytes, created 7/16/2004 08:24:34
              File 'WNASPINT.DLL': Ver=V1.18, size=57344 bytes, created 11/2/2002 09:53:04
              File 'Drivers\PXHELP20.SYS': Ver=2.03.32a, size=20640 bytes, created 4/25/2005 09:03:00 (Prassi/Veritas driver for win 2K)
you have already been told to get rid of this and how to do it

                  use the killaspi part

it might be time for more ram and a clean install of the OS

Hi Chevy, I have run the Killaspi tool and says it's now gone and that I need to reboot etc, apart from my operating system, is that done now?Or do I need to add something else?
