divx3 and divx4 problem while playing

one more since i'm at it.

when i installed divx codec 4, and picked no to play divx files, whenever i play clips compressed in 3.11 they play in slow motion in media player and when trying to play clips coded in divx4 doesn't play at all. any help wellcomed.

You have installed 3.11a beforehands, have you? If so, have you got DirectX installed? The latest one preferrably.

Lastly, what is your CPU speed?

You are correct, I have installed 3.11 alpha, then divx 4. I also have installed direct x. I have 800 mhz, pentium 3. 512 ram. I think that i had divx 4 installed first then i uninstalled it as I have learned that the 3.11 is more general. and then I installed 3.11 and after that the divx 4 and picked no to divx content. And that's when i noticed the slow motion.
