WMV to Divx or MPEG

is there any good software to convert a WMV to DIVX
and may i stress good because i have looked and found alot of crappy unstable attempts and am sick of finding such garbage

i have tried virtualdub but the WMV support has been discontinued and the earyler version does not seem to support the latest WMV codec

ok Mediacoder keeps failing no matter what i try and virtualdub mpeg gave me this error when i try to open the video

download & install ffdshow from http://www.x264.nl, go start-->programs-->ffdshow-->VFW codec config-->decoder-->codecs and set wmv2/8 to libavcodec
