recurring (and annoying) burner issue, please help

    Hey everyone,

I was wondering if someone could help me out, or explain to me what is happening with my burner. I have a HP Writer 740b and it's able to work wonders, I've been using DVD Shrink & Nero to burn dvds and it used to take 30-45 mins to rip AND burn.

BUT now, all of a sudden it's taking 2 hours to do the same thing, I dont know whats going on. This has happened before and I don't remember how I fixed it, I've tried uninstalling the drive, updating the firmware (which didn't do anything b/c it's all up to date) and so on...

I'll appreciate any feedback, thanks =)

Check to see that DMA is enabled...here is a guide.

actually i just realized that although everything is set to "DMA if available" including my primary IDE channel device 0, but what i didnt realize earlier is that the "current transfer mode" is PIO, how do i change this?

if i knew where to find my burn log, i'd post it =/
