Anyway to watch VCD with PS2?

Is there anyway to rip divx to CDR and be able to watch though a Play Station 2? I have ask this questin in another forum and other questions as well --- with no response. Setarip and Enchanter used to help. If I have done something to upset anyone, I am sorry. I did use the advice they gave to others with similar problems. I printed it out and follow it to a "T". Thank You Setarip and Enchanter for your indirect help. I am now downloading, burning, and watching like a real pro.

No. I think the only console capable of playing vcd's or possibly svcd's is the dreamcast (though I'm not sure). Search this forum...and vcdhelp.com

I believe that other posts have indicated that you must have a mod chip installed...

Yea you can but you have to have a mod chip installed. This enables the ps2 to read cdr's. But they dont make external mod chips for ps2 as far as I know so you have to have some one soder in a chip in your $400 ps2. Kinda risky.
