dma problems

im having a little problem with my dma settings. in the advanced settings the current transfer mode says not applicable. it says this in the primary and secondary idle. also the settings keep changing back to pio mode. i searched the forum and couldnt find anything to help. anyone have any ideas.

Is it a dell computer?

no i havent added any drives and it is a dell computer
