    Nero 7 Problem

I created a project in Nero 7 Ultra Edition. The project consists of 3 slide shows and a movie. The problem is I mistakenly set up the project to be burned as a Video CD. I want to make this a DVD project. When I try to burn this project the only option I have is to burn to a CD. Is there anything I can do to burn this project to DVD?

    video cd's are mpeg 1, dvd's are mpeg 2

you need to start over from scratch

That is not good. Many many hours wasted. Is there anyway to convert mpeg1 to mpeg 2?

Encoding to VCD (MPEG-1), you already reduced video quality enormously. Converting from MPEG-1 to DVD format (MPEG-2) won't restore its quality loss and also time consuming. It's better off to start over as Chewy's advice

Chewy has a good point. However, CD Video is useless because it requires a third party. CD Videos have all kinds of problems where material can't be started from the menu and the chapters can't be fast-forwarded at all times without the third party. You're mixing a slideshow with a DVD movie with the DVD files such as VOB, IFO and BUP on the same disc that are crashing together and causing the burning problem.

Slideshows can be added on the same DVD disc as a DVD movie as you know but the slideshow has to be on the VOB, IFO and BUP file types, too. If you created your slideshow as a piece of software it should work OK. Some DVDs have screensavers added as with the DVD movies. If you still have problems, it's worth locating some software to create a piece of slideshow software and add that creation to the same DVD disc as the DVD movie.

I hope you sort it soon.

          Darren.

Thanks. One for thought. I just noticed that from within my project, I have the ability to export the slideshows, movies, etc. to MPEG2, AVI and other formats. Will that work.

I'm glad you sorted it out. I hate it when creations most of all belly-up and cause problems. I also hope your creations play OK.

              Darren.

There was definitely a drop off in quality. I took Chewy's advice and started over. Final product is excellent. Thanks all.
