Back up on a dual layer

While copying the entire disk was easy, making a backup on an 8.5 dvd without menus & references is giving me a few problems; it's a live concert we'd like to start immediately. Maybe I didn't understand the layer break procedure exactly, I thought that PgcEdit chose the cell automatically and that it was enough for me to press the OK button, but so far I've gotten a disk that plays on one player but not on the other two.
Any idea on what I should or shouldn't do?

What brand name are the discs and what speed are you burning at?
What program is doing the burning?

The disk is Fujfilm 2.5x and I use PgcEdit with Imgburn at 2.5x.

time to post your burner, it's firmware and the mid code of those fuji's
just put the disk in your burner and copy the appropriate info from imgburn

ritek dual layers are bad disks but you might be able to make them work,
first make sure everything else is right

I think it may be the usb drive, as blutach suggests (suggestion that I've read too late. That'll teach me!).

I'd take the usb drive even if it's a liteon over the older laptop one anyday,
the firmware is almost a year newer, but neither stand a good chance with those ritek's, buy verbatim or stay with single layer disks

it's real easy to split a long title into 2 parts with shrink

I'm going to try TDKs, since I cannot find Verbatim +, but only -, though yesterday, by pure luck, I was able to do the job satisfactorily. Maybe it was the right day. I can never figure out why sometimes I can accomplish a task without knowing how I did it. It ain't funny.
