help i have an *.avi file , with much pulling and pushing I can view the vidio but no audio?

to get the vidio to play i have installed divx 4 codec but still no audio

In order to determine which codec(s) you need for a particular .AVI, you should do the following:

1) Load the file into VirtualDub

2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (both video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

my bad I should have used the search util

it turned out to be windvd 4 not registering the file for the decoding the audio .
