Eureka!!!!!!!! I can bypass my PC altogether

    If I just saw what I think I saw...I can by pass my PC altogether!!!! A stand alone DVD/VHS recorder that records TO DVD???? Does such an animal exist? Is it too good to be true? I have a stand-alone DVD/VHS recorder, but it only copies from DVD to VHS...I want it to go the other way. If I could bypass my PC altogheter, this would be a great thing. Sound slike a big pain in the patootie tio do it that way.......Now, I just gotta find one in real life and check out the prices. Does anyone have recommendations as to brand names? This was was a Phillips I think, the one in the commercial. As I rarely watch network TV, I was g;lad to have seen it!

    presently, Philips is your sole choice.

    Gee, if you hook up your GoVideo (I presume) DVDtoVHS to the Philips VHStoDVD, you can probably have a DVDtoDVd setup ;>}

      DVD-recorder and discs

      What about the encoding to protect commercial DVDs from being copied? Can I bypass that without using a computer? Not that I would want to copy commercial DVDs, I was just wondering. I have seen the best prices for DVD-R discs on eBay.....anyother suggestions? I can't find a place here that has the Phillips I want......also eBay? any input appreciated

          Why would you want to bypass your PC anyway? It would be as pointless as one of those Audio CD copiers that you can use on your stereo. Plus i guess the equipment will be a lot deerer than what DVD-RAM drives are.
