DVD and subtitles

Hi guy,
I d/loaded a movie from the net which is in avi format. I also d/loaded a file which is the subtittle for that movie. The movie does not come with subtitles. I wanted to know how do I add subtittles to the avi file which I have and burn it on a dvd. Presently I do have Nero 7 and DVD Shrink. I was told that it is very easy adding subtittles to the dvd, but was not told how.Plz. help I'm a new bie in this sector. Thanks a lot.
