    Vob 2 Mpg 2 Vob

Nubie here. Trying to edit homemade DVDs of TV shows on Movie Maker. Almost works, audio no video. Know it's not simple, been reading your traffic, demuxed with Vobrator, stuck at this point. Here's what I did: 1)Dragged VTS_01_2.VOB diectly off DVD on to harddrive. 2) Changed vob extension to mpg. 3) Played VTS_01_2.mpg in Media Player v11.0.5 played fine except slight audio/video off sync. 3) Imported VTS_01_2.mpg into Movie Maker v 2.1.4 okay. 4) Dragged Media Player into storyboard, audio and video tracks both showed up in timeline okay. 5) Played clip, only got audio, and clip only ran for 30 seconds. Plays for a couple of minutes in Media Player. 6) Demuxed file with Vobrator, tried to import video portion into Movie Maker, rejected it. I'm stuck. My goal is to convert VOB-to-MPG-back-to-VOB to play edited clips on original recoder. Good luck right? Any suggestions?

Try out Womble MPEG Video Wizard DVD.No need to rename the VOB file. You can edit the VOB file itself in WMVWD.If you only want to make some cuts in the VOBs,then VideoReDo Plus is even better.

        Paglamon,
Womble MPEG Video Wizard is good stuff. Very stable can't crash it. Edits vobs directly or converts vob-to-mpg-to-vob-and-burn. Drag and drop most things. No A/V sync problems. Can decompose files into elements. Edit, cut, patch. One stop shopping. Very fast on a new machine. Help files are poor, but you can experiment and figure out. Thanks for tip
