VCD to DVD (variable mpg 1)

I have a video of my wedding that was recorded on a VCD some years ago. I'm trying to transfer it to DVD. So far I was able extract the mpg1 with variable rates from the VCD but I'm having problems converting that file to DVD.

What could I use to convert variable rate mpg1 to DVD? I tried TMPGEnc and I get an error message "It is possibly MPEG-1 with a variable bitrate. Can not apply smart rendering... etc."

Not understanding what your are trying to do. Is your VCD on a 700mb CD-R disk now? And at a mpeg1 rate at VBR.

Putting it on a DVD disk Plus or minus disk (DVD-5) is still going to be mpeg1 rate at VBR.

Are you just trying to put all your CD disks on one DVD-5? Wouldn't it be easier to just make a back-up copy of your current CD-R disks?

If you used TMPGEnc basic (mpeg1) encoder to encode your VCD disk your output to burn file is one mpeg file

If you use TMPGENC basic (mpeg1) encoder to encode your DVD, your output to burn files will be the m2v video file and the mp2 audio file
Then you need an authoring program like IFO edit to author the video
m2v file and audio mp2 file. And then burn to a DVD-5 disk.
