Hi.
I just bought Hauppague WinTV PVR 150.
It only records TV in MPEG 1 & 2, not AVI (I think).
I want to do some MPEG-2 editing and need recommendations for good/decent MPEG-2 editor that:
- doesn't degrade the quality of original MPEG 2
- that doesn't give video/audio synch problems
These are the kind of editing I want to do:
a) Cutting/Trimming off the beginning and ending of a MPEG 2 file
b) Cutting out the middle bits in a MPEG 2 file (such as cutting out commercials)
c) Joining together MPEG 2 files
I always set the record mode to "DVD Standard Play" quality. This is the highest it can do I believe, at about 50MByte per min. The specs of the files are usually:
Video: MPEG2 Video 720x576 (4:3) 25.00fps 8000Kbps [Video]
Audio: MPEG Audio 48000Hz stereo 384Kbps [Audio]
I hope this is PAL DVD compliant.
I tend to use NERO / Vision Express to make my DVDs. If you there are any other good ones with menu making function, let me know.
Cheers!
