    Analog Video Capture

I have a lot of old 8mm video recordings and have started saving them to VHS then to DVD. Trouble started when I got the bright idea, why not capture on PC then Burn DVD.
First problem bought Dazzle with Pinnacle Studio 10. Will not run on Vista, loaded on Windows XP laptop will capture then freeze up. Tried Unlead, will capture video, but not audio, same is true with WinDVD. Do I throw the Dazzle out and start over with a PC card, or is there something else I can try? Thanks jim

first for vista, use the beta patch for vista on pinnacle site, it will make ur studio 10 run on vista.

check the setting if ur not getting audio but u can capture video. u may have chosed no audio while capturing.

Windows XP laptop will capture then freeze up
are u capturing real time? what is ur system specs, what settings u r using to capture
Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!

forget Dazzle! ... i have Studio 10.8, Studio Plus 10.8 and Studio Plus 11.1.2 and Dazzle DVC150 and Dazzle DVC170 ... they are not compatible! (all software and drivers were properly installed ... of course only one program at a time)

Pinnacle Tech Support emailed me to say that THEIR Dazzle DVC170 will not work with Studio for analog capture and that they couldn't get it to work, either!
