chewy, i just finished hooking up that psu. like a baby so far. not much can do about extra cables. i tied them up as neatly and securely w/some extra ties i saved from previous purchases. works fine for now.

didn't receive any info on the $30 rebate. does newegg handle that, or do i have to contact newegg for details?

i think 4 now i'm going to stay w/this pc until we build one later. really no point putting anything xtra, and like you said can't do too much w/an entry level one anyway. thnx again 4 the heads up on this psu.

check the power and ide cables, it's easy to loosen one when you start pushing wires around

hi chewy. here's an update on most of the stuff we've covered here. i just received the pioneer dvr 115d from newegg. it replaced the 112d that was defective. the 112d i sent to pioneer for a new 1 based on their recall. now i have the power supply unit installed in my dell e310. the 500 watt atx cooler master 1 suggested on here. right now the power supply unit, and my samsung are working fine. i'm going to put the 115d in right now, and see if it's not defective.

if it is would you suggest just getting some different product altogether w/the rma from newegg? pioneer has really no alternative , but to give me a new 112d, or any other new burner, so i'll b covered burner wise. only thing i could think of upgrading is another sata hard drive w/more storage like you suggested from the get go, and keep the 2 ide burners, if the new 115d, and 112d end up not defective. i'll have 2 pioneers, which is better than nothing, and a sata samsung. like you suggested though, not much to upgrade w/an entry level, and i'm definitely going to build from scratch. money is a lil concern right now, so as far as the extra hard drive don't know if i want 2 go that way right now, especially if i won't b able 2 use it w/the new build. a suggestion is always appreciated. btw if a hard drive wouldn't b such a bad idea how much $$$ do they normally run 4 anyway? thnx.

your new power supply should handle another hard drive, but you probably don't have an extra sata controller left do you?
