I saw the same board refurb, for $48 and when I went back to buy the board and it was gone, so it was you Chewy that bought the broad from under me.

hi chewy. i'll get 2 everest soon. what kind of hardware issue would i have pertaining to the 2 pioneers i sent back? the 115d, and the 112d? just got some flack at cdfreaks about how it has 2 b a hardware problem. my other burners had no problem. same system. same software. also remember the sata 20x lite-on that wouldn't burn at 8x w/sony dvd-r 16x media, that had an issue not related to my hardware, or software, but w/the burn speed and certain brand blanks.

then again the guy who gave me flack is supposedly a tech from pioneer who's supposedly trying to help. go figure. no coincidence huh. i'm not going 2 go bonkers over a burner that doesn't function, when i have 2 good name brand ones that are perfectly fine. especially the samsung which is 1 of the big guns now.

your computer may have issues, it's hard to draw conclusions from one drive to another since this all is such a can of worms anymore

for example

I burned 2 dvd's on an older nec 3520, one of the burns took 13 1/2 minutes at 8X, I scanned both burns and then did a burn in my LG and scanned it.

All three disks showed the same general bad area, the old nec when it hit the worst of the two disks had a lot of high errors(PIF), the better of the 2 disks had smaller pif's but in the same pattern and places

my lg burning the third disk(next off the spindle) had almost all it's errors in the same pattern but only a fraction of the intensity

you mean the whole thing w/burners nowadays huh? well what would i have to check 4 as far as my pc? or just go w/if what i have is not broken then don't fix it? if there's something i could look 4 i'll do it. if it's not anything 2 big of a deal that you see being that my lg and samsung r fine then i'll just leave it at that. could this b a compatability issue w/my samsung? the pioneer did burn dvds well w/no problem. just issues w/the cds w/reading, and writing.

ok now bench your memory with latency bench, mine is 50ns with ddr1

there's a little refresh symbol (uparrow next to a down arrow)

I was just getting an idea of what your computer was like?

even going lower mid level would be a drastic upgrade in performance

right now your memory was holding you way back for any cpu intensive work

any dual core you go to will give you almost double the cpu and with even 1-2 gigs of fast ram that should really speed thinngs up

does this have anything 2 do w/the pioneer not burning the cds? if not are you suggesting getting 2 of these and putting them in here 4 a lil upgrade 2 take care of that 50ns, until a new build?
