ok. so the 2 sticks would do ok 4 now w/this pc. which site for the critcal update? product info, or driver download?

take you service tag number go to dell and check for a driver update for your serial, must be a general chipset one

thnx chewy. my modem 4 my internet service went on a blink, or mayb just turned off as a result of over heating. i'll get back soon, and we'll take it from there.

cable and dsl modems need to be power cycled from time to time, I prefer to leave them off for even a minute

a wireless router seems to go bonkers a lot more often, might need to do it every few days or so

never allow these devices to overheat by restricting air flow to them

chewy everything's fine w/the updates, and my drivers. just checked them thoroughly. like you said w/what's going on out here w/all this new unchartered stuff we never know what the hell we're going to get. mayb the pioneer just has compatibility issues w/my samsung. i'm letting this go. if i decide 2 get rid of it i'll just sell it as is. mayb 1 of the fellas would want it.

now 2 get back 2 the build, or slight upgrade, you think putting in a couple of gadgets in this dell, would b good until we build a monster? those two sticks are cheap, and w/the rma money they owe me i'd be getting 1 for free w/the rebate. i would still need me an ide burner, but the lg, and samsung could suffice 4 now.

btw thnx 4 that tip on the modem. i figured it would b that. have a spindle of dvds next 2 it also.

thnx doc. i have 2 admit though that i'm definitely a newbie at knowing, or doing anything w/processors, or anything else outside of burners, media, and burning software. that's why i have to stick to my resolution. i would need some serious guidance from chewy on a build or even a slight upgrade to this e310 from dell i have. i have no idea whatsoever the extras my pc could handle, and even the slightest how to put them in. Miles hit it right on the head in his last post to the vista thread. I would b banging my head w/a 2by4 also. i got tired of the pain. what do you get when you don't get what you want? Experience.

i figured that much doc. that's why iim not doing anything other than some other tweaks here n there that would just make this e310 maybe quicker, and possibly more storage. the two complement each other usually.

hi chewy. what's the am2+ about? is the plus saying the need 4 another mobo, or is it representing a dual core w/the 2 there?

hi fellas. i'm not putting another mobo in this dell hell. that's new build territory. not right w/$$$ to go the whole route w/a new build right now. are those two sticks chewy posted in newegg worth a lil upgrade? i would do something like that.

chewy i got what you meant by trying to figure dell's, or any other big manufacturer's pcs. when you went to check out the update 4 my southbridge there was 2 that could of been used. seeing that my pc had that A04 attached 2 it. both updates included my e310 from dell. get back 2 me on those 2 sticks, and anything minimal also that i could throw in this e310. help is always appreciated. thnx.
