    Playing dual audio movies

    Hi!

    I am trying to watch movies that have dual audio (for example russian - english, polish - english). I hear the first language and the second. I cant understand any, (I do not understand russian or polish), I really would like to hear only English.
    I tried to do what they explain in the video editing guide provided by DivXLand.org. The programs used to edit AVI video files are either VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod in No. 13. I receive an 'improper VBR audio' error in VirtualDub
    (http://www.divxland.org/troubleshooting.php#13) but nothing changed.
    I was told that if there was two audio streams it would be easy disabling one (russian/polish), but no they only have one but you hear both languages!
    So if someone has an idea I would really appreciate it!

    Thank you very much!

    P.D. For the editing I have used so far VirtualDubMod. For playing VLC media player.

    That problem occurs in programs like Windows Media Player.

    VLC should let you select the audio, under the Audio menu (track 1, track 2, etc).

      But the problem is: it appears in VCL as only Track1 in audio menu, but there is distinctly the two languages, the russian-polish is sometimes a little bit sooner than the english, so at the end you hear some english words.
      Thank you very much!

        Can you upload a small sample (about a couple of min.) of the file so that we could emulate the problem ?

          it sounds like the avi creation was bad, 2 sound streams in avi?

          mkv might support that

                Thank you very much paglamon and Chewy!

                How could I upload a small sample, about 2 minutes are like 11MB? Is there a place for uploading, because the attachments permitted in the post are max 3.91MB?
                I can play all the movies with this problem fine on VCL, but there is no option for choosing between two tracks. There is only one with the two simultaneous voices (languages)!
                Thank you really!

                  @Chewy
                  Yes.I just made a test avi with 2 audio tracks(one default,already in the avi ,the other an external mp3 audio file). VLC played it and I could switch between the two tracks.

                  @quick24
                  but there is no option for choosing between two tracks
                  Right click on the playing window with your avi open in VLC.You will see options about Audio Tracks.

                  You can upload your file to some free file hosting sites like rapidshare.com.

                    I thought there for a minute you were going to tell me that the avi container supported multiple sound streams in the same file?

                      Thank you Paglamon! And I had tried the audio track menu in VCL but it looks like this "Only one audio track available" (see .bmp) all my movies with dual audio have this problem.

                      I uploaded on rapidshare a 8 minute as a small sample (55 MB) the link is:
                      http://rapidshare.com/files/58730008...4__chunk_1.avi
                      If someone wants to look at it and maybe has an idea?!
                      I would appreciate it!

                      Thank you very much!
