    If you want to burn a CD (NOT convert it to VCD or SVCD) for playing on your PC, simply burn it as a "Data CD"...

        VCD = Video CD
        SVCD = Super VCD

        SVCD has higher resolution than VCD and hence has the better quality. However, this means that 1 disc can only fit less of an SVCD movie than VCD.

                      Talk about spamming...

                      Let me clear your confused mind.

                      VCD...is better quality than DivX? ...
                      SVCD is of better quality than VCD. It is not necessarily better or worse than DivX (Which can greatly vary in quality from video to video).

                      how do u turn a DivX into a VCD? or SVCD?
                      You can use either TMPGEnc or Nero 5.5 to convert DivX-compressed AVI files into VCD.

                      i got it to work....everything...except the sound.....
                      What did you do? I thought you wanted to create a VCD-compliant file??? Virtualdub does not create such files.

                      p.s. Would you please keep your posts to a minimal? (Read: Use the Edit button to place alterations to your post). This is no feasible way of attaining higher ranking and it's annoying to see so many posts from the same person.
