TV flickers video signal on black screen

Hello, I'm new here. This is my first post.

When I watch a DVD that I've burned with my Mac my TV keeps flashing a 576i video signal in the upper left-hand corner of the screen whenever the DVD video goes black. What i mean by black is sometimes how video is edited together in movies will sometimes include a small millisecond pause of a black screen for dramatic effect or whatever and when the video kicks back in my TV displays the signal. It's almost as if on the black screens the TV think there's no signal and then when the movie moves on to the next scene it's oh I have a signal now. It does this every 30 seconds or so. Count the black pause screens in a movie, haha. It get annoying after awhile.

It doesn't happen when I'm watching a store-bough DVD like LOTR or something.

I'm converting divx .avi files to .mpg with Burn on a Mac OS X machine and then using the Burn program to burn a DVD disc as well.

My TV is a Polaroid FLM-3732 and my DVD player is a Panasonic SC-PT750 (DVD home theater system).

Has anyone else ever experienced this? Hopefully someone can help. Thanks!

hi. welcome. you're pretty much knowledgeable about converting divx .avifiles, so in that respect you're not a newbie. there's a couple of forums, and probably dozens of threads on editing, converting, and reauthoring here. try those through the search feature. now i'd check to see if that home theatre system can handle those types of files. not every player supports every format, and being that you've got an apple might play into it as well. if a store bought dvd has no problem, then i'd suggest you start process of elimination, together w/any info from the above mentioned forums.

a generic dvd stand alone player will play just about anything. best buy's own brand Insignia is great, and 4 the most part is always reasonably priced, especially when on sale.
    SAMSUNG SH-S203B, SAMSUNG SH-S223F,

Take the suggestions and follow the directions. The results will speak for themselves.

    Google is definitely our friend.
