Subtitles won't appear anymore

Hi,
I have just installed DivXLand Media Subtitles 205 in my laptop which is using Windows Vista. I tried to make a subtitles file and launched it. But, it wouldn't appear. The problem get worse because now all my avi files' subtitles won't appear either. Before I installed the software, they worked just fine.
I have tried to uninstall the new software, but those subtitles still won't appear.

Can anyone help?

AVI files can't actually have subtitles... you'd have to have a seperate .srt.

What are you using to play the videos?
